By laying bare the full banality of my own self, I attempt to provide a capacity for reflection and cognition of the audience – achievement of self-acceptance and maybe forgiveness in an age where self-control prevails, and where we believe in bearing the burden of our existence ourselves.
Through a focus on the presence of the pieces, I do not wish my work to appear as forcing a narrative on my public, but rather as opening up its own frames of reference. Therefore, frankness and presence are significant elements in my work.
